SMOKE CONCERT A very enjoyable and festive gathering it was that occupied the lower portion of St. Joseph’s Hall, on Thursday evening, the occasion being a smoko concert under the control of the combined St. Joseph’s (No. 73) and St. Patrick’s (No 643) branches of the Hibernian-Australasian Catholic Benefit* Society, A varied programme of singing, reciting, and instrumental music was presented, those taking part being Messrs. Montague, L. Carroll, R. Baughen, T. Hutton, J. B. Flynn, and W. C. M‘Donnell. Each item was vigorously applauded and several had to oblige two and three times.
