A BOY’S DEATH. Joseph Arthur Parker, aged sixteen, died in a private hospital last _ night whilst under an anaesthetic.—Gisborne Press Association telegram. FARMER FOUND. DEAD. Thomas Power, middle aged, a farmer, was found dead in a paddock near his farm at Winchmore this morning. The deceased went round the sheep at an early hour, and later he was found dead near a fence.—Ashburton Press Association telegram. A PAINFUL INJURY. When the steamer Raisdale was berthing at Westport yesterday a seaman named Morns Edwards met with a painful accident. His left foot was caught between the steering chain and a grader block, and was badly fractured. He was removed to hospital. DEATH UNDER ANAESTHETIC. Walter Tyrrell, an elderly man, who resided with his wife at 36 Maybank street, opolio, died at the hospital last night while under an anaesthetic. Ho was n baker by occupation. The deceased had done no work for the past six years on account of ilhhealth. About 6 o’clock on Monday night he took a bad turn, and as his condition did not improve Dr Lindon, who had attended him previously, ordered his removal to hospital. There an urgent operation was considered necessary, and an amesthetie was administered, but before the operation commenced he collapsed and died. All possible restorative methods were’ applied without sue cess. An inquest will be held this afternoon. MIDDLE-AGED MAN’S DEATH. At .9.30 this morning Henri Germane, a farmer of Ivokopu, aged about fifty years, was admitted to the hospital suffering from the effects of blucstone poisoning. He received prompt treatment, but died at 10.30.—Whangarei Press Association. COLLAPSED IN STREET. Margaret Elizabeth M'Kay, married, sixty-four years of age, who resided at 6 Howell’s lane, left her residence to go shopping this morning. She had not gone far when she collapsed in the street. She was carried back to the house by some men and placed on a couch, where she died. As far as could be ascertained she had never been attended by a doctor, but her daughter stated that she had suffered from heart attacks. An inquest will bo held.
