The Wahine, from Wellington, arrived. at Lyttelton at 6.50 a.m. to-day, passengers and mails connecting with the south express. The John sailed yesterday afternoon for New Plymouth and Port Waikato via ports. ■ The Raisdale left this morning for Westport to bunker before proceeding to Ocean or Nauru Island to load phosphates for either Now Zealand or Australia. , , , The Waikawa was to leave her berth at the Rattray street wharf this afternoon for Port Chalmers, ivhere she docks for painting. The vessel goes to Bluff about Saturday to unload the remainder of her zVmcrican cargo. Tho Waipiato is expected to leave Lyttelton this evening for Dunedin, where she is duo to-morrow to unload cargo She later proceeds to Bluff, returning to Port Chalmers to withdraw for survey and bo converted into an oil burner. Tho Waimarino loaves Auckland on Saturday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Oainaru, and Tiinaru. The Calm arrived this afternoon from Bluff to load cargo and sail to-night for Tiinaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The Breeze is duo early on Saturday morning from Wellington. She will load for Oamaru, Tiinaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui, and sail for the north the same day. NARBADA FOR DUNEDIN. Tho Union Company advises that tho Narbada, from tho East, is to leave Lyttelton on Tuesday nest for Timarii and Dunedin. She is due here about September 18 to unload portion of her merchandise. WAIKOUAITI’S LOADING. After loading at Newcastle and Sydney, the Union Vtaikouaiti is expected to clear Sydney on September 17 for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. MATA 110 A RADIOS. The National Mortgage advises that tho master of the Shaw, Say ill ship Mataroa has sent a radio stating that tho vessel will arrive at Wellington next Wednesday from Southampton. She left Southampton on August 15 for Wellington and Auckland. Alter her rail at Auckland her movements are at present indefinite. TARANAKI HERE. The Shaw. Savill, and Albion Company’s motor ship Taranaki arrived at Dunedin this morning from .London via Panama, Suva, and Lyttelton, and berthed at the Victoria wharf to discharge general cargo. She will probably bo finished on Saturday, and she will go to Port Chalmers on feunda.v morning to commence loading, leaving on Monday for Bluff'. Tho vessel made a fast passage to New Zealand, her average speed being 14.96 knots. Amiss the Atlantic her average was 14.8 knots, but iroin the Canal to/ Suva tho average was lu—knots. . . The voyage to the dominion was uneventful, fair weather conditions prevailing for most of tho trip. When proceeding through tho Panama Lanai tho Taranaki passed the Karamea on her record-breaking passage Home from Now Zealand. Tlu. Taranaki loft London on July 23. While tho vessel was at Suva, discharging, the Tofua, with the crew and some of the Tahiti’s passengers on board, arrived at the island, but members of tho Taranaki could not get into communication with the vessel as she anchored outside. . . The New Zealand Government’s new steamer Matni is reported to have cleared St. Thomas, West Indies, last Friday, cn route from England to Wellington. PORT BRISBANE LEAVES NEW YORK. The C. and D. Line has received cabled advice that the Port Brisbane left New York on September 3 with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland on October 2. CARGO FROM MONTREAL. Cabled news has been received by Canadian National Steamships that the Canadian Commander left Montreal on August 29 with cargo for discharge at Auckland and Australian ports. She is due at Auckland on October 9. PASSENGERS FOR ’FRISCO. The Makura left Wellington on Tuesday for San Francisco via Rarotonga and Papeete.
