STOLEN PAINTINGS
DRAMATIC RECOVERY BY SCOTLAND YARD Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, September 10. (Received September 11, at 10.40 a.m.) The ‘ Evening News ’ says that Scotland Yard dramatically recovered eighteen Rembrandt, Reynolds, and: Rubens paintings, valued at £20,000, which had been stolen in March from the Carlton House galleries. The pictures were in a railway cloak room, apparently awaiting shipment abroad.
