LADIES' HOCKEY
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE A meeting of the executive_ of the Otago Ladies’ Hockey Association was held last evening. Present —Mrs R. Hudson (in the chair), Mrs G. A. Nelson, Misses Sutherland, Turnbull, Adams, and Hill. Congratulations were extended to the Otago hockey representative team on tho nno performance put up at the recent dominion tournament at Invercargill. The Otago team won the Holden Cup, which is now on view ; n the window of the Otago Sports Depot. The manager and chaperon of tho team submitted reports on the play and behaviour of the team, both on and off the field, this being all that could be desired. Tho Secretary was instructed to write to tho Southland Ladies’ Hockey Association congratulating it on the successful tournament and for the hospitality to tho visiting players. Letters were received from the Otago Central Ladies’ Hockey Association and the Maniototo Ladies’ Hockey Subassociation thanking the Otago Association for its hospitality during their stay for the week-end on August 23. Tho Milton Club was specially thanked for tho way it had worked to raise funds towards the sending away of tho Otago team to the New Zealand tournament. A handsome sum had been forwarded by this club. It was reported that the following teams had entered for the six-a-side tournament to bo held at Omakau on Saturday ;—Triangle, Technical Old Girls, and Momona (2). Tentative arrangements were made, ponding advice from tho Eastern Southland Ladies’ Hockey Association (winners of the K. Cup and Floyd Shield at tho dominion tournament), re accepting an invitation to play Otago at Dunedin on Saturday next.
