ORPHANS' CLUB

“ Hard-up ’’ Night at the Orphans’ Chib attracted a large muster of members last evening. Bro. H. Russell, who was in the chair, presided over a scene that represented the bar room of a, bush hostelry. An excellent programme was presented by the following:—Bros. T. Bachop, A. Smith, 11. .Tamos, A. M'Donald, W. Hutton, and R. M‘Farlane. There wore many original costumes, the prize winners being as follow:—Character sketches, Bros. W. Brown and A. Hughes; hardup sketch, Bro. R. Harper. At an interval in the proceedings members partook of a supper of saveloys and “ spuds,” and those present voted the evening one of the best of the season.
