DR KATHLEEN PIH

Dr Kathleen Pih, who was brought to Dunedin some twenty years ago by Mrs Russell, then a missionary in China, has been educated entirely in Dunedin, passing through the Primary school, the Girls’ High School, and Otago University, where she obtained her medical degree. She completed a term as house surgeon in Oamaru Hospital before setting sail for China to work among the women of her nation in the Kong Chuen Mission Hospital, near Canton. At a recent meeting ef the P.W.M.U. held in St. Andrew’s Church, at which some seventy members wore present, the opportunity was taken of saying farewell to Dr Pih. Mrs D. H. Rogers, on behalf of her many friends, presented her with a valuable medical boojt, for which Dr Pih thanked her, saying how necessary such books would be in China, where she would not have the opportunity of conferring with _ other members of the medical profession.
