PAYNE TROPHY The attraction at Carisbrook, on Saturday, will be tho Payne Trophy match between Alhambra, premier team of Otago, and Christchurch champion team of Canterbury. This is expected to provide a fast open game. The visitors are a strong side all round and played some good football in the competition at Christchurch. Tho box plan will open to-morrow morning. Carson (forward) are unable to visit Dunedin and Invercargill with the Canterbury team and will be replaced by W. Brown (threequarter), and Howitson (full-back), the others will be chosen later.
