(Received August 6, at 10.35 a.m.) A Kansas City message states that tho Secretary or tho Department of Agriculture (Mr Arthur Hyde), addressing the Mid-West Retail Merchants’ Association on Tuesday, expressed the belief that disposal of the large wheat carry-over might be speeded by the drought damage to the corn crops. He said that recent estimates placed tho corn loss at 220,000,000 bushels, and indicated that tho department believed that the loss might approach 500,000,000 bushels, 'this would off-set the over-supply of wheat, achieving a rough balance. Ho added that the department was stressing the value of wheat as stock ration.
