BOARD OF DIRECTORS’ MEETING At the monthly meeting of the board of directors of the Y.W.C.A. Mrs Nicolson, vice-president, occupied the chair, in tho absence ox the president, and there was a good attendance of members. Tho general secretary reported that the Advisory Board had met, and Mr Wilkinson announced that be had been given another anonymous gift of £IOO towards the hostel building fund, thus bringing the total to a satisfactory amount to commence the building operations. Miss Hill Jack wrote resigning her seat on the board. A. Nomination Committee was formed to receive and deal with nominations for board vacancies. Thursday, September 18, was fixed for the date of tho annual meeting. Mrs C, M. Begg presented the following National Board reports:— World fellowship, Flock House, boy and girl work. Five members were elected to discuss the boy and girl poliev with the Y.M.C.A. Board. Miss Harclio reported that Miss Jean btevenson had been asked to accept tho position of national general secretary tor three years in Miss Law’s place. After discussion it was decided to pool expenses for National Board meetings for a time as an experiment. The finance statement was presented by Miss Hardie. It was proposed and carried that the financial statement be presented quarterly, the board to compare it with tho estimated budget. The Finance Committee recommended that the association work towards a special effort to reduce the bank overdraft, time and nature of the effort to be left to tho board. Mrs C. M. Begg, Mrs Skinner, Mrs Malcolm to form a committee for a sale of work about the end of October for this purpose.
