RESULTS OF POLICE ACTIVITY £200,000 IN FINES. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, June 14. (Received June 16, at 9.5 a.in.) An idea of police activity against motorists in England is revealed by the fact that motorists paid over £200,000 in fines last year. Over 250,000 motorists were summoned, and in addition 69,000 wore cautioned. Among the offences were the following;—Manslaughter 74, drunkenness 1,730, and reckless driving 27,000. More than 23,000 wore summoned for exceeding the speed limit.
