A final try-out before the Otago I amateur championships' is afforded local amateurs by the open boxing tournament to bo held at His Majesty’s Theatre to-nipjht, and as the’ leading schools will all be represented the Otago Boxing Association should he able to present a well-varied programme. The boys are now beginning to reach their best form, and as the entries are of a most satisfactory nature some fine contests should ho witnessed, more especially among the lighter divisions, in which a good array of talent has come forward. Otago has several promising amateurs at the present time, and as most of them will lu> participating in the forthcoming tournament a good deal of interest will’ be attached to their appearances in view of the Fact that the Otago anrh New Zealand championships loom ahead. From the stalls and circle an excellent view of the proceedings may bo obtained, and the association should be greeted with a full house. In all, twelve bouts will be staged.
