TWO DEAD MEN
BAFFLING FLAT MYSTERY EXPLAINED AT INQUEST Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, May 13. (Received May 14, at 10.20 a.m.) A weird and puzzling discovery was explained at an inquest at Blackpool. William Pnrkes and James Becconsall were found in the latter’s flat sitting on a couch facing each other, wearing overcoats. Both were dead. _ There were no signs of injury, poison, or weapon. The affair was a baffling mystery until it was discovered to be a case of suicide. The men had turned on the gas, and had died. Becconsall’s two small sons, seeing the men as they thought asleep, went out, leaving the door open. Thus the air drove the gas from the house. The boys were discovered ifa the. morning crying because they could not waken their father. Both men had been drinking, and had been heard to say they were going to “do themselves in.”
