“RED RAIN.”

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—-Under tho heading of “Red Rain” a paragraph appeared in your issue last night indicating that a fall of red rain fell in Blenheim last Wednesday morning. I am in a position to prove that a similar fall occurred in Dunedin (or a part of the city) in the early hours or Monday morning, exactly two days before the fall recorded in Blenheim. I first noticed it on the glass of a vinery in the nature of sulphur-coloured spots, and the distance apart varied from 2in to 6in. Strangely enough, although we had a very heavy fall or rain on Wednesday, the spots were not washed off, so that verification of the above phenomenon can be made even a week after the occurrence.—l am, etc., November 29.
