The general stated that the Salvation Army in Canada was united under the new leadership. He had had the friendliest meeting with Evangeline Booth. When asked to comment on Lucy Booth-Hell berg’s so-called banishment to South America, General Higgins said: “If it is banishment to go to a city like Buenos Aires, with 2,000,000 inhabitants, and with the whole of South America as an area of command, then 1 'do not understand the meaning of the word ‘ banishment.’ ” ARMY FINANCES. (Received October 28, at 1.40 p.m.) General Higgins denies that the Sal ration Army appealed to America foi tiuancialaid. ile admitted that the sell denial appeal receipts had declined, bui stated that the contributions from Salvationists themselves had shown a gen erous increase, and that the public support was gratifying.
