The insurance companies are understood to have intimated to the Ministry of Transport that slum hi it be decided to proceed with the scheme they would willingly co-operate. The insurance companies readied this decision after studying the details ol tho Transport Ministry's proposals. In addition to making it obligatory upon owners of motor _ vehicles to insure their vehicles against third-party risks the scheme compels all motor drivers, unless specially exempt, to carry their certificates of insurance when in charge of a motor vehicle, failure to do so being punishable with fines up to £SO or the alternative ot three mouths’ imprisonment.
