UNITED CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH

Mrs R- S. Black (mayoress) opened a fair in connection with the United Congregational Church in Stuart Hall yesterday* afternoon. The salo continued in the evening, when an entertaining waxworks performance was staged bv young Indies of the Moray Place Congregational Church. The takings were very satisfactory, and at closing time the stalls had been fairly well cleared. Following were -tbo stallholders:- — Ladies’ work Mesdamcs C. M. Ellis, \V. R. Sinclair, and J. Ahcrnethy; produce, Mesdamcs F. Lawrence and 11. Barton; cakes—Mesdamcs W. Paterson, E. E Wilkinson, A. Burk; sweets, Misses E. Laing, M. Drydon; books, Miss Rowlandson; tea rooms— Mesdames Taylor, J. Gardiner, and R. Stewart; bran tub, Mrs J. H. Oliver; side shows—Messrs W. Johnston. C. Barton, A. Dyer, F. Dyer; miscellaneous stall—Messrs S. Johnston, R. Abernothy, and L. Smith.
