Arriving this morning from Bluff the Calm. was loading to-day to sail again to-night for Timaru, Lyttelton. Wellington, and Wanganui. Last evening the Waipiala left lor Bluff to finish discharging her cargo loaded in the north. The vessel is to return to this port on Tuesday to take in cargo for'Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The tanker Plume left yesterday for San Francisco direct. This afternoon the -Waikouaiti was due from Sydney. She brings coal and general cargo for this port, and the whole of her freight will be unloaded hen-;, The Knhika •is due here on Monday to load and sail the same day (or Napier and Gisborne via ports. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Waiiine, from I Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.45 a.m. to-day. and passengers and mails connected with'the south express. BROCKABECK REPORTED. Reported to have cleared Mauritius last Monday the steamer Brockaheck is on route from the Seychelles Islands with phosphates for New Zealand. , Her ports of discharge have not yet been announced. KENT LEAVES COLON. En route from Auckland to London, Avonmouth, Glasgow, and Liverpool, the Federal Line steamer Kent is reported to have sailed from Colon on August 11. About noon to-day word was received by the ship’s company (Shaw, Savill) from Captain J, Kenworthy that the Kia Ora was putting back to Wellington to remedy a certain defect discovered since the ship went to sea. The Kia Ora left Wellington on Thursday for London via Cape Horn laden with frozen meat and dairy produce. The defect is not of a serious nature, hut the vessel’s return is a precaution in view of the long voyage ahead. CANADIAN CHALLENGER REPORTED. En route from Montreal to Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin, the Canadian Challenger lias been reported to have passed Panama She is due at ; Auckland about September 10, and at this port about September 22.

RARANGA AT - AUCKLAND. Telegraphic adyico, is to the effect; that the S.S. and A. steamer Raranga. arrived at Auckland early yesterday afternoon from Liverpool.
