Following the Auckland Racing Club’s reduction .of £2,400 in stakes for the season, the Auckland Trotting Club’s presidential address to-day forecasted a reduction in stakes totalling £5,000 for the club’s season. NEW ZEALAND LEAGUE x FOOTBALLERS. r LONDON, August 13. (Received August 14, at 2 p.m.) Three New Zealand international footballers Hardgraves, Hall, and Hunt, arrived by the Corinthic, and were met by the chairman of the St. Helen’s Northern Union Football Club. They signed contracts immediately, the terms not being disclosed. WELLINGTON CRICKET ASSOCIATION. The Wellington Cricket Association has provisionally agreed to the sending of a New Zealand team to England in 1931, subject to satisfactory financial arrangements being made. If also agreed to take a three-days’ match in December with the visiting English team, though it is still pressing for a fourth day owing to the heavy charge of £375 for the match,—Press Association. • '
