Sir Horace Wilson, Permanent Secretary to the Ministry ol continued to-day Iii c * work as a,conciliator, in the Lancashire cotton dispute, lidding an informal conference with the parties. The legislative council of the United Textile Factory Workers, .representing all the operative unions, met at Manchester this afternoon. On tho employer's’ side, a meeting of the general committee of the Federation of Master Cotton Spinners’ Association will bo held to-morrow, when it is understood that a report will he submitted on the conversations which the employers’ representatives had with the Prime Mimsto on Saturday. No indication has officially ol the nature of those conversations or ot: the basir. wh>b it is understood the Prime Minister suggested for bringing tho employe! s’ and operatives’ representatives " into a conference. There is a growing feeling that the employers will agree to arbitration. Five more mills restarted work today at tho old rate of wages.
