JUNE MEETING CONCLUDED PADDY'S PRIDE WINS CUP The June meeting of the Dunedin Coursing Club was brought to a conclusion at Forbury Park yesterday afternoon. There was a large attendance, and the weather was very suitable for the sport. In addition to the third and final rounds of coursing for the Boyle Challenge Cup, and also three rounds of a Supplementary Stake, several heals of whippet racing were held under the auspices of the Dunedin Whippet Racing Club. Air D. Tither’s Paddy’s Pride was the winner of the Boyle Cup, and the Supplementary Stake was won by Air T. W. Lee's Rosie Afac. Results: — BOYLE CHALLENGE CUP. —Third Round.— Paddy’s Pride (5* points) beat Lance Micawber (4 points). Rose of Picardv (SJ) beat Quissie (2i). In the first course Lance Micawber did most of the work until the hare was turned. Paddy’s Pride then came up fast, and did all the leading until the game reached the escapes. It was a good course, and Paddy’s Pride almost caught the hare. The second course was one of the best of the meeting. Rose of Picardy showed groat pace,- and did all the leading, gaining the verdict. The hare was strong, and eluded capture --Final.— Mr D. Ti liter’s blk w d Paddy's Pride (Osterman —Onyx). -H points, beat Messrs Thomson and Clarke’s w brd d Rose of Picardy (Picardy— Hope), 3 points. Paddy’s Pride did most of the leading, and the hare was turned several times. The game was strong, and had every chance of escaping, but was caught when making a quick turn between the two dogs near the escapes. Paddy’s Pride showed better lead work than Rose of Picardy. SUPPLEMENTARY STAKE. Winner. £5; runner-up, £1 15-. - First Hound.— Gipsy’s Warning (4) points) beat Eve (4 points). Prince of Picardy (!) beat Brindle Lady (0). Cameo (7) beat Grand Jewel (2). Rosio Alae (2{) beat Ben Hur (1). —Second Round.— Gipsy’s Warning (3V) beat Prince of Picardy (3). Rosie Alae (3J) beat Cameo (3). Final.— Air T. W. Lee’s r w h Rosie Alae iSea Prince- Rose of Picardy), 3 points, beat Mr C. Brinsell’s r d Gipsy’s Warning (Grey Gipsy—Lady Belfast), 2J points. WHIPPET RACING. The whippet racing was interesting, and the races were confined to dog? owned by members of the Dunedin Whippet Racing Club. The officials were —Alarshal, J. S. Douglas; track steward, J. A. Ainge: timekeeper. J. Kelleher; judges—R Aitcheson and A Blackwood- Judicial Committee—J. Mitchell, J. A. Ainge, W Crossan, B. S. Irwin, J. A. Fotheringham; starter, J. Duncan.
