PIPING AND DANCING COMPETITIONS

LAST NIGHT'S RESULTS The Otago Centre’s annual piping and dancing competitions were continued in the Burns Hall last evening. The following are the results: — JIGS AND HORNPIPES (Dominion Championship). First prize £5, second £3, third £l. C C. Selby, Mokotua (‘Riley’s Jig’ and ‘ H.M.S. Renown Hornpipe') 1 J. Yard Icy, Dunedin (‘ Galvin’s Special’ and ‘Centres Bonnett’) 2 G. Yardley, Dunedin (‘ Jack-a-Tnr ’ and 1 Paddy’s Leather Breeches ’) 3 Also competed : P. Davidson.

Nance Spavin, Timaru .1 Daphne Allan, Dunedin 2 Jessie Jardine, Oaraaru 3 Also competed: Patriha Wilson, Edna Agnew, Patricia Atkinson, Daphne Rennet, Rena Harris, Munci Lee. Edna Knudson, Ethel Smith, Florence Miller, and Christina 'hither.

Originally Nanco Spavin and Daphne Allan tied lor first place, and were called upon to dance over again, with the above result.
