SWIMMING HONOURS

At the Municipal Baths yesterday afternoon Miss Nancy Fleming, of Arclierfiekl College, was successful in passing the examination for tbe diploma, the highest award of the Royal Life Saving Society. Miss Fleming is the. first lady in Dunedin to secure this award. She obtained 132 marks out of a possible 170. The custodian of Hit; Municipal Baths (Mr P. S. Mathieson) has received advice that he has been successful in passing the examination for the National Swimming Instructors’ Association (America) diploma,, one of the highest awards open to teachers of swimming. Mr Mathicson was examined by Messrs D. Bannatyuc and E. G. James, of the Otago Swimming Centre.
