EDMOND CUP
SATURDAY’S STEEPLECHASE RACE Although last year’s big Held of 159 runners will hot. bo exceeded, tbe entries for next Saturday’s Edmond Cup three-mile steeplechase, staged by the Dunedin Harrier and Amateur Athletic -Club, arc very large, no fewer than thirteen teams baying entered, while there is a possibility of at' least one more coming to band. The race is for teams of ten, the first six of whom count for points, and a fine race is anticipated. J. J. Morris, who was second in last year’s race; is among-the starters,'who will also include a previous winner 'in E. L. Brown, of Auckland, who has qualified to run for the Civil Service Club iu the race. Many other well-known runners will he taking part, the field including no fewer than three who have held the New Zealand cross-country championship— J. W. Tapp, E, L. Brown, and C. W. Frye.
