DrJ. K. E. Elliott, D.D father of Air J. S. Elliott, president of the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association. Dr Elliott wa for forty-five years one of the leaders of the Presbyterian Church in New Zealand. He was born in Belfast (Ireland) eighty-four years :igo. and was educated at tho Belfast Academy and Queen’s College. He was ordaine'd in 1572, and for twelve years held charges in the neighbourhood of Belfast. Tii 1884 lie came to New Zealand. Four yca’-s later he was inducted to the charge of the Kent Terrace Church in Wellington when it was first opened. He remained there till 1921, when ho resigned from the full-time ministry without severing his association with tin church. For years he was a member of the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, and in addition to holding the position of moderator of the Genera!
