APPLICATIONS TO SUPREME COURT “ The conclusion one comes to is that you are unable to resist committing yourself to expenditure and imposing on your creditors,” said His Honour Mr 'justice Smith in the Supreme Court to-day. when Thomas William Robinson, farmer, of Milburn, applied for discharge from bankruptcy. Applicant was not represented by counsel. “The Official Assignee has made a report in your case,” said His Honour. “Have you soon it?” Applicant 1 No, sir. His Honou said the Assignee had pointed out that bankrupt estimated his liabilities at £325 and his assets at £9Ol yet only 2s 5d in the £ had been paid. Bankrupt bad filed previously in July. 1919, and had obtained his discharge in 1920' The Assignee had reported further that in view of his finances at the time bankrupt had entered a hopelesr venure at Milburn. “ 1 think it would be a good thing for you tij learn to work hard on wages for a time,” commented His Honour. “ What is the pressing need for your discharge ? ” Applicant said there was no pressing need. He thought that the bankruptcy had been hanging on too long “ You should realise you arc not a' man to enter into business on your own account,’-' said His Honour, who adjourned the application for a year. The Official Assignee was released from the estate. John Rilev (Mr C. B. Barrowclough), farmer, of Otakia, applied for the annulment of adjudication in bankruptcy. Mr Barroweloxigh said Riley was adjudged bankrupt in 1925. and had since paid all his creditors 20s in the £. The application was granted. Order, for release of the Official Assignee were granted in the .following bankruptcies;—J' A Cowan, F. B. Spinks, James Carruthers, R. B. Wills, H. P. Campbell, F. ]\L Hogg, N. T'V>del.
