Herrick (United States Ambassador Extraordinary to France) brought ashore to-day from tho French cruiser Tourville and placed on a gnu carriage, shrouded in black and purple and drawn by six horses. It was followed for tho hour’s journey through, silent streets, whore people and officials paid their respects. The coffin was then placed on a train for Cleveland where it will he buried. The wai ships Marblehead and Cincinnati followed the Tourville into Hie inner harbour Fort Jay fired a twentyone guns salute to the half-masted French flag, and alt flags on the city skyline were at half-mast—Australian Press Association-United Service.
