BRITAIN’S TRADE
FIGURES FGR MARCH
(British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright, RUGBY, April 12. The exports for March were of the value of £-58,623,000, and the imports £98,593,1X10. It may lie pointed out, however, that Easter fell in March this year, whereas last year it fell in April, and this probably would acccount for the substantial lessening of trade. The exports for the first quarter of the year were of the value of £181.167,000, showing a decrease of only £769,065 compared with the first three months of last year. _ The imports for tho first quarter of this year amounted to £305,975,000, showing a decrease of £3,787,000 compand with the first quarter of 1928,
The most encouraging feature presented by the returns for March is the increase hi value of the quantity of British coal exported, exceeding £500,000.
