THE SHANTUNG REVOLT VICTORY FOR NATIONALISTS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SHANGHAI, February -’l. (Received February 25, at 9.55 a.in.) The Shantung revolt _ is reported temporarily suppressed, victory favouring the Nationalists. Chefoo, the rebel’s objective, is now quiet. Chang Chuiig-Chang, the erstwhile Governor of Shantung, is believed to bo personally stationed in close proximity to the scene of the recent hostilities causing well-informed circles to believe that the uprising is not permanently quashed. British, American, and Japanese warships arc continuing to stand by Chefoo for the protection of nationals.—Australian Press Association.
