(Received November 26, at 9.20 a.m.) The Provincial Labour Court at Duisburg has reversed its decision in the steel workers’ case. (Received November 26, at 12.40 p.m.) In consequence of the employers intention to appeal against the decision of the Duisburg Labour Court, the Ruhr Steelworks are not expected to reopen during the present year. Despite the Central Government s grant of £1,000,000 lor relief of distress the position is most serious. Ino municipalities of Dusseldorf are paying relief for one-quarter of the inhabitants. Stoppages of other industries in consequence of the steel lockout are increasing. [A message received on November 14 stated: The Labour Court at Duisburg decided that the arbitrator’s award for the iron and steel workers was not binding, and made conciliation more 1 difficult..].
