G. MThomson in the Legislative Council May 1 venture to suggest that you should further lend your aid in the endeavour that is being made to render the practice illegal, so that New Zealand may bo placed on the same humane platform in this respect as Great Britain, whoso Parliament has legislated against it. 'Mr Thomson deserves the heartiest support in his efforts to remove this blot from a phase of the community’s legitimate and skilful amusements. —1 am, etc., CnAV Bum. August 22.
