Moritzson made a long statement containing certain phases qi tho development of Otago under irrigation, and with special reference to Ids close connections therewith. Vve wish to point out, however, that, haying been so long absent from ’Dunedin ho cannot bo very an _ fait with what has gone on, hence his references to the Cromwell Development Company will repay further study before they can bo regarded as of much value. \Vc further wish it to he understood that Mr Moritzson is not a member of the hoard, has no knowledge of its policy, and has no authority to suggest whether the company is prepared to soli its assets or not, nor to state what terms it would accept if it was approached by tho Government or any other intending purchaser.-—I am, etc..
