Il was revealed to-day that Air Chiel Sir John Salmoml, while on route irom Sydney to Brisbane, narrowly escaped a'crash. Immediately after the start on Sunday, while passing over Manly, a ■wireless aerial depending Irom the super-marine aircraft strnek the side of a weatherboard house and also broke' electric light wires. Residents say that a terrific report followed, and the eleetrie supply was interrupted in the locality. Kyo witnesses allege that the 'plane was Hying very Jow, and appeared scarcely able to rise and clear the iionses.'
