A section of tbo Australian .Scots on tiio eve of their departure for Australia via Canada were interviewed, and they sounded a depressing note. Mr James Kekles. who had been absent from Scoifeind tor forty-two years, declared that Scotland had not progressed as the overseas countries mid. He said that the race seemed to bo falling back. Mr Andrew Malcolm, who had been absent for I'orly-nino years, declared that it was a crying shame that tracts of land were being sold to American Jews, and that the castles were being demolished. If-U continued there would bo great gaps in Scottish history.— Australian Press Association.
