Bay View road, Surrey street, and Macandrew road s.w. sewers ■ 1" Total employed at present ... 90 The jobs not yet completed by the works department are in York place, Ross street, Mornington road, Aberdeen road, and Stafford street. The York placo job consists of the removal of a bank. Part of this will bo commenced, but the remainder will bo delayed pending negotiations with tho owner for the erection of a wall. . . Ross street is under negotiation as to the payment for land taken to sot back a small portion of the frontage. Mornington road is being commenced on Wednesday next, j Stafford street is to be worked in conjunction with Alva street, and Aberdeen road with Ravenswood road, the same gangs to be employed. Ross Creek reservoir work is expected to last nine weeks from Friday, July 13. As the various works approach completion men will have to bo dismissed, as all tho men employed cannot bo absorbed on tho_ remaining works. If considered advisable, additional works could bo proposed.
