The Kcv. W. liardie Johnson, incumbent elect ol All Saints' Church, with his wife and family arrived at, Wellington by the Rotorua on Saturday morning, and was welcomed by Sir James* Allen on behalf of the congregation of All Saints’. He arrived in town by the_ north express this afternoon, and will be the guest of Mr .1. M. Ritchie, Pitt street, until the parsonage is ready for the reception ol his family. The induction service will take place on Thursday evening to lie followed by a welcome gathering in the schoolroom.

Mrs C. G. Smith left hy this morning’s express for Lyttelton, where she will join the Maui Romaro on route lor Norfolk Island and Samoa. Mr limiter Maeandrew, chairman ol the Peninsula County Council, was a passenger by the express this morning on a business trip to Wellington. Mr and Mrs James Rrown left tins morning for Lyttelton, where they will take, ship for Norfolk Island. Mr T. Anderson, Mayor ol Port Chalmers, was a passenger by to-day’s express on bis way to Wellington. The Mayor of Taihape, Mr A. J. Joblin, died on Sunday morning, aged 06. He bad been ill for several months with a heart complaint. Deceased loaves a- widow, lour .sons, and two daughters.—Press Association. Now visitors to the Gram! Hotel include Mr M. Dreyfus, .Miss S. Gilmore (Invercargill). After an absence of three years in Canterbury, Mr T. H. Cahill, formerly of this city, has returned to reside m Dunedin.
