ST. HILDA MUNICIPAL BAND

The St. Kilda. Band played to a crowded house in His Majesty’s Theatre last night, tho performance being tho first of a series of Sunday night concerts arranged for the winter months The concert opened with the hymn ‘Nearer, My God, to Thee,’ followed by the beautiful Weber selection ‘Oberon.’ Tho other band numbers were Beethoven’s ‘Minuet in 6,’ concert waltz ' Reflections.’ Mr George Christie’s renderin" of tho ‘ Lost Chord ’ was a treat andi was deserving of tho applause accorded. Teh vocalists were Miss Bay Stubbs, Mrs T. D. Eogers, and Mr L. Stubbs, whose individual efforts were enthusiastically received. The performance was brought to a close with the playing of tho ‘Exile’ march. Tho next concert will be given on Sunday, May 6.
