Work at tho Hutt road end of the Tawa Flat Railway deviation tunnel was brought to a standstill to-day by a big slip, caused by heavy rain, which practically blocked the entrance to the tunnel. Four men tunnelling, when about to leave, heard a rumbling noise, and donated whether to stay or run. They determined on the latter course, and only succeeded in getting past when the slip came down. The workmen all along had considered tho facing dangerous.
