(Received April 17, at 10 a.m.) The Commonwealt.il Steamship Owners’ Association, in a statement, points out that job control is being practised to enforce the demands made in respect to the Uliraaroa for an additional cook and senllerynian on the vessel Tbo owners claim that the vessel has been running for eighteen years with the present manning, and they consider the demand unreasonable, yet the union stated that no cooks would be available until the demand was conceded. The statement concludes: “In view of these repeated instances of direct, action, the owners have no alternative but to take action against the union in the Arbitration Court.”
