CENTRAL GETS RAIN
MOLYHEUX IN FLOOD [Special to the ‘ Star.’] CLYDE, April 14. Heavy rain set in yesterday and continued throughout the night. There were several good rains last month, and tho whole Central has a green sheen which promises well for abundant winter feed. Tho general opinion ot farmers is that it is the best autumn for many years. Tho turnip crop is splendid. As the result of tho ruin tho Molyneux is in flood. It has risen sft since yesterday. The superintendent of telegraphs forwards the following:— The postmaster, Cromwell, advised at 8.30 a.m.: Continuous heavy ruin for twelve hours ceased at 6 a.m. It is still raining at Arrowtown, Luggate, and Pembroke. The river rose Oft duiing the night, and is still rifting. It is now 6ft above normal.” The postmaster, Cromwell, advises at 10.45 a.m.: Light rain is falling. The river is up twelve indies since 8.30 a.m,, and is now at the thirteenfoot mark.
