FINES ON BOOKMAKER

BRITISH REVENUE FRAUDS WEEKLY RETURNS NOT MADE. LONDON. April 4. Archicald Scouller, trading as Scotland and Co., bookmakers, of Regent street, was fined £1,600 and £BO and costs at the 'Marlborough Street Court on fourteen summonses charging him with failing to submit weekly returns of bets. There was one charge of failing to keep books and documents and one of failing to record a bet. Scouller's certificate was suspended for three months. He allegedly' defrauded the revenue of nearly £I,OOO by suppressing bets made by special clients. Scouller’s total -visible turnover was £7,400.
