THE CAVELL FILM

GERMAN AGITATION ■IN AMERICA EFFORT’S TO PREVENT SHOWING. Prws Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, April 11. (Received April 13, at 9 a.m.) Fearful lest the exhibition of the British film ‘ Dawn ’ should reawaken anti-German feeling, the German diplomatic consular officials are making renewed efforts to prevent its showing. The State Department has taken no official cognisance of the growing protests, and will not unless formally approached by the German Embassy, consider this step, though it is reluctant to arouse public discussion similar to that which occurred in England. In the meantime the German Consulate in New York has succeeded in exacting a promise from many of the important theatres that they will not exhibit the film.—Australian Press Association.
