Souter was granted a transfer from the Heriot Club to Alhambra. An application from J. I. Ross lor a transfer from University to Kaikorui was deferred pending receipt of a clearance from the University Club. BROADCASTING FOOTBALL, The Radio Broadcasting Company wrote thanking tho union for permission to broadcast matches at Dunedin during the coining season. ' GATE TAKINGS. The. receipts at the Easter Saturday matches at Carisbrook were reported to be £147 18s Cd. The net proceeds are to be devoted to the fund to send Now Zealand’s athletes to the Olympic Games. REPRESENTATIVE MATCH. Tho secretary of the Wairarapa Rugby Union wrote stating it was intended to send a Wairarapa team on tour to Canterbury, Otago, and Southland this season. As a large percentage of the players wore farmers, a_ late tour was impossible, and he was instructed to ask that the Otago delegates to the j annual meeting of the New Zealand Union arrange to give Wairarapa an early date.—lt was decided to refer the \ matter to tho Otago delegates to the parent body’s annual meeting. ! all BLACKS’ DEPARTURE. It was decided to send a message of good wishes to the New Zealand team leaving to-morrow for South Africa. It was also decided to send telegrams , to Messrs Hore and Lindsay, the Otago 1 representatives with the team, wishing them good luck. RANFURLY SHIELD. “ What about putting in a challenge for the Ranfurly Shield P” asked Mr Spcdding, who added that lie understood Canterbury had suggested that a match should be played on June 3. The Chairman said that that suggestion had not come officially, and the union had not considered tho mattei. Mr Harris said there was a notice of motion to tho annual meeting of tho New Zealand Rugby Union that no shield matches should bo played before the end of July. , , ..
