OTAGO CLUB'S RAGES The Otago Yacht Club’s second series of club races was held over the club course on Saturday afternoon. Three events were decided, there being races for ]2ft 6in sailing dinghies, general handicap for yachts, general handicap for launches, an outboard race for boats of unlimited engine capacity, and a heat for the Paterson Cup event. The wind was light from the north-east, and though placing the yachts at a disadvantage, made for very favorable conditions for the outboard boats, which all showed a good turn of speed. The corrected finishing times of the various events were:— 12ft 6in SAILING DINGHIES. Chance (smin), 4h 34min 20see ... 1 The only starter. GENERAL HANDICAP FOR YACHTS. Sea Hawk (16niin), 4h 68min 51sec 1 Wild Cat (ISniiu), oh 2min XOsec 2 Also started: Minnow, Lark, and Experiment. The result of a protest entered against Minnow on the grounds of rounding the buoy on the wrong hand will decide the third place. PATERSON CUP FOR OUTBOARDS. Aloha, 3h 20min Isec I Miss Whippet, 3h 20min Riser; ... - Naiad, 3h 31min .' 3 The only starters. UNLIMITED OUTBOARD EVENT. Aloha (ser), 4h Imin 37sec 1 Naiad (40sec), 4h 3min 7sec 2 Fiasco (Imin lOsec), 4h 3min42sec 3 Miss Whippet did not start owing to engine trouble. GENERAL HANDICAP FOR MOTORS. Stella (3min), 4h 25min 23sec ... 1 Southern Star (llmin), 4h 3(smin 4G.sec “ Doris (20rain), 4h 37min 3 Ugie retired, and Nomad, Marewa, and Ngaio did not start.
