KAIKORAI BAND AT ST. CLAIR

The members of the Kaikorai Band have every reason to be gratified at the large crowd that assembled at St. Clair Beach yesterday afternoon. The beach was thronged with people, and there was a steady stream of listeners to the programme given by the hand. Chief among the items was the Christchurch contest selection, 1 Scheherazade,’ which was listened to with much interest and admiration at the treatment given such a difficult work. The evening concert was well attended. The outstanding feature was the hymn playing, three extra numbers being given by request. The concluding item was the contest march, * Boulder City.’ The band will play at St. Clair again next Sunday afternoon and night.
