ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
WOMAN GORED BY BULL. A Whangarei Association message states that Mrs C. H. Allan, of Towai, was driving the cows into the yard when a Jersey bull turned on her, inflicting severe injuries to the abdomen and lower thigh. A youth, William Murray, was passing, and drove the animal off. Airs Allan suffered great loss of blood, and was taken to Kawakawa Hospital. It was reported this morning that her condition was satisfactory. SUICIDES. A Eeefton Association message states that Hugo Trumboldt, a resident of Inangahua Junction, was found dead in a -whare on Monday with his head blow off. At the inquest yesterday a verdict was returned of suicide with gelignite while recovering from the after-effects of alcohol. The body of Sydney Durward, licensee of the Blackspoint Hotel, was found in the Energetic mine shaft last night, about 750 ft deep. Evidently be had thrown himself down. An attempt is being made to recover the body to-day, but it is a hard job, as the mine has not been worlung and'the shaft has fallen in.
