DRUIDISM

The. Olivo Brandi Juvenile Lodgo of Druids held its meeting in the George Street School Hall. A.D. Bro. Winter presiding over a good attendance. De-puty-superintendent_ Bro. M/Farlane was in charge. Prizes were presented for competitions held on a previous meeting. A letter of regret was ordered to bo sent to P.A. Bro. Smith, who was confined to his bed for a week. The superintendent intimated that he would close the year with an entertainment, and supper would he given after games and pr: :s for attendance during the vear had been disposed of. The many friends of P.A. Bro. A. T. Smith will regret to learn that he is confined to bed.

The Lily of the Valley Lodge held its meeting iii the Millar Street Hall, A.D. Bro. Hope presiding over a good attendance. P.A. Bros. Avery (Otago) and Rusbridgo (Linden) were welcome visitors. A letter was received from the grand secretary regarding a maternity claim, the matter being fully inquired into, and the member _ was duly informed of his -position in the matter. A candidate was proposed for next meeting. The officers were invited to be present at the lodge of instruction held under the jurisdiction of the chapter. The Royal Arch Chapter held its monthly meeting in the hall, Dowling street, R.A.D. Bro. Walker presiding over a. good attendance. P.G.P. Bro. Jacobson, P.D.P. Bro. Ford, and P.A. Bro. Rushbridge received a welcome. The secretary gave a report of the opening of the Gore Chapter, and received a vote of thanks for his work. He was ordered to have a report of the chapter work during the year prepared and submitted at the annual meeting in February. The chapter officers formed a Lodge of Instruction, when five officers of the subordinate lodges attended and received .instruction, the chairs being occupied by I.P.A. Bro. Hughes (Lilv), IP.A. Bro. Sinclair (Ivanhoe), and U.A. Bro'. Clark (Royal Oak). Regret at the severe illness of P.A. Bro. A. T. Smith was noted, and a letter was ordered to be sent wishing him a speedy recovery. , .
