AMERICAN PRESIDENCY

PRESIDENT GSCLIDOE'S ATTITUDE OPPOSED TOl DENOMINATION. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, November 22. It is authoritatively stated that President Coolidge opposes the circulation of a petition proposing that lie should be a candidate lor the Presidency in 1928. The announcement followed reports in the newspapers that an endless chain of petitions urging him to run again had been circulated in New England, with a view to arousing a general popular demand for his renomination. Some argued that the statement still left President Coolidge’s hands untied, and that he could answer the convention call without the possible stigma of having sought renominatiun.
