DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. Generally speaking, there were iar more buyers than sellers on the market this morning. The only sellers in the banking section were of Commercials at 29s 6d and P. and O. Banking Corporations £lO 9s, the buying quotes being 28s lod and £lO 6s respectively. New Zealand shareholders in the latter company have received advice from Lord Inchcape, the chairman of tho corporation, that an offer has been made by the Chartered Bank of India, Australia, and China for a block of P. and O. Bank shares at £lO 16s per share. For National Insurances, 6s paid, there was a buyer at 15s 3d, with no sellers. Westport Coals were in demand at 29s 6d, wi.th.no sellers under 555. For D.I.C. (profs.) buyers were prepared to give 20s 9d, but sellers were not in evidence. Buyers of Mosgiel Woollens advanced their price to £6 3s 6d without attracting sellers. A sale was reported in Dominion Rubbers at the advanced price of 41s, the market closing with a further buyer at 58s, and sellers still asking 41s. Brewery shares wore weaker, buyers offering 37s 6d, with no sellers prepared to quit under 425. Mount Lyells bad a reported sale at 28s 3d, the market closing with sellers at 28s 6d and buyers at 28s 2d. Upper Neviscs advanced still further, buyers offering 245, with sellers at 255.
