It had been decided to request the association to select class colors which would be uniform for all regattas. In addition to the carrying of class colors being a recognised yachtracing tradition, it was a great deal more satisfactory to both officials and spectators. It was finally decided that the following colors be allotted to the various classes;-—Yachts: Sailing dinghies, I2ft Gin and under, white; 18ft and under, rod; allcomers, blue and red; 14-footors, red, while, and red. 'Die total area of each class of flag is to bo 12iu square. In view of the fact that Iho new 14-footer would not he ready for launching before Saturday, November 20, the date of the first Sanders Cup trial was postponed till December .‘lO. it was also decided that the first Takapmui class trial bo postponed till the same date.
Tlio matter of appointing an official follow-np boat was loft in the Jiands oi : the president. . ]u connection with the Taka puna trials, Mr Mollcr pointed out that there wore possibly a number of boys who were competent to sail a lakapnna boat, but who could not possess. one. It would bo in the interests of the sport, he said, if these boys were given an opportunity to represent tbc province.
It was decided to write to the clubs explaining the position, and stating that if the boys possessing the necessary qualifications and under the age of 'l9 years at the time of nomination, applied to the Railing Committee on the Victoria wharf on the day of the trial, they would be raced over a short course, Mr Bowlcy stated that at a recent regatta meeting several speed boat owners had asked tor a longer course than four miles. They had asked for an eight-mile course, but they had compromised with six miles. A speed boat race over a short course was finished in a few minutese. The President said, that the matter was not for tho association but tor the regatta committees to decide.
